How to perform tawaf, step by step
The full method of circling the Kaʿbah seven times, from the intention at the Black Stone to the two rakats at Maqam Ibrahim and drinking Zamzam.
Tawaf means walking around the Kaʿbah seven times. It always starts and ends at the Black Stone, called Hajr-e-Aswad, which is fixed into one corner of the Kaʿbah.
How to do tawaf
- Stand facing the Black Stone with your right shoulder pointing towards it, and say in your heart that you intend to do seven rounds of tawaf.
- Say Bismillah, then touch or kiss the Black Stone if you can do so without hurting anyone. This is called Istilam.
- Walk around the Kaʿbah keeping it on your left side, all the way round back to the Black Stone: that is one round.
- For men: in the first three rounds only, walk with quick, brisk steps called Ramal. Men also uncover their right shoulder for the whole tawaf if saʿy will follow; this is called Idtiba.
- Touch the Black Stone again every time you pass it, if you can.
- Do this seven times in total. All seven rounds together make one complete tawaf.
- After finishing, pray two rakats near the Station of Ibrahim, if there is space.
- Then go and drink Zamzam water, facing the Qiblah.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ طَوَافَ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ فَيَسِّرۡهُ لِى وَ تَقَبَّلۡهُ مِنِّى
Allāhumma innī urīdu ṭawāfa baytika'l-ḥarāmi sabʿata ashwāṭin fa-yassirhu lī wa taqabbalhu minnī.
O Allah! I intend to perform seven circuits of Tawaf of Your Sacred House. Make it easy for me and accept it from me.
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ وَالصَّلٰوةُ عَلٰى رَسُولِ اللهِ
Bismillāhi wa'llāhu akbar, wa lillāhi'l-ḥamdu wa'ṣ-ṣalātu ʿalā rasūli'llāh.
In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. All praise is for Allah, and salutations upon the Messenger of Allah.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِيمَانًا بِكَ وَ تَصْدِيقاً بِكِتَابِكَ وَ وَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ وَ اتِّبَاعَاً لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ
Allāhumma īmānan bika wa taṣdīqan bi-kitābika wa wafā'an bi-ʿahdika wa'ttibāʿan li-sunnati nabiyyik.
O Allah, I kiss the Black Stone with faith in You, belief in Your Book, fulfilment of Your covenant, and following the way of Your Prophet.
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلٰوةُ عَلٰى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
Bismillāhi wa'l-ḥamdu lillāhi wa'ṣ-ṣalātu ʿalā rasūli'llāh.
I begin in the name of Allah, and all praise is for Allah, and blessings upon His Messenger.
Tawaf is seven circuits of the Kaʿbah, made counter-clockwise with the Kaʿbah on the left shoulder, beginning and ending at the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad). Between the two, dua is recited at each landmark along the way, and the seven circuits are followed by two rakats and drinking Zamzam.
The method of tawaf
- Stand with the right shoulder towards the left corner of the Black Stone, turn the body to the left, and form the intention.
- Recite Bismillah and, if possible without harming anyone, place both hands on the Black Stone and kiss it in the middle; this is Istilam. It is recommended to press the face and forehead to it and kiss it three times.
- If kissing it is not possible, touch it with the hand and kiss the hand; if that is not possible, touch it with a stick and kiss the stick; if none of this is possible, simply raise both hands towards it and recite the takbir.
- Begin walking, keeping the Kaʿbah on the left. For a man, uncover the right shoulder (Idtiba) if saʿy will follow this tawaf, and walk briskly with short, vigorous steps (Ramal) for the first three circuits only; the remaining four are walked normally. If a crowd makes Ramal impossible, pause until it thins rather than skip it.
- Talbiyah is not recited during tawaf. Instead, recite the dua given for each landmark: opposite the Muṭazzam (Multazam wall, between the Black Stone and the Kaʿbah's door), at the door of the Kaʿbah, at the Iraqi corner, beneath the Mizab (the waterspout), at the Syrian corner, between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, and on returning to the Black Stone.
- Perform Istilam of the Black Stone at the start of every circuit if possible; doing it only at the very first and very last circuit is also valid.
- Seven such circuits make one complete tawaf. The Hijr (Hateem), the low-walled area by the Kaʿbah, is always included within the circuit and never entered.
- After completing seven circuits, go to the Station of Ibrahim (Maqam Ibrahim) and pray two rakats: Surah al-Kafirun in the first, Surah al-Ikhlas in the second. These two rakats are obligatory in the Hanafi school.
- Then go to the Zamzam well, face the Qiblah, and drink three sips, pouring some over the body as a blessing.
Praying two rakats after every tawaf is obligatory in the Hanafi school, best done immediately behind Maqam Ibrahim, though the Hijr, the area around the Kaʿbah, the wider Mataf, or anywhere in the Haram will also serve.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ طَوَافَ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ فَيَسِّرۡهُ لِى وَ تَقَبَّلۡهُ مِنِّى

Allāhu akbar, lā ilāha illa'llāhu wa'l-ḥamdu lillāhi taʿālā wa'ṣ-ṣalātu ʿalā nabiyyihi'l-muṣṭafā.
Allah is the Greatest. There is no god except Allah, and all praise belongs to Allah the Exalted. And blessings be upon His chosen Prophet.
رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ وَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
Rabbanā ātinā fi'd-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi'l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba'n-nār, wa subḥāna'llāhi wa'l-ḥamdu lillāhi wa lā ilāha illa'llāhu wa'llāhu akbar, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhi'l-ʿaliyyi'l-ʿaẓīm.
Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Him, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
اَللّٰهُمَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتُ بَيْتُكَ وَ هَذَا الْحَرَمُ حَرَمُكَ وَ هَذَا الْأَمۡنُ أَمْنُكَ وَهَذَا الْمَقَامُ مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
Allāhumma hādha'l-baytu baytuka wa hādha'l-ḥaramu ḥaramuka wa hādha'l-amnu amnuka wa hādha'l-maqāmu maqāmu'l-ʿā'idhi bika mina'n-nār.
O Allah, this house is Your house, and this sacred place is Your sacred place, and this security is Your security, and this station is the station of the one who seeks refuge with You from the Fire.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّکِّ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَالنِّفَاقِ وَ الشِّقَاقِ وَسُوٓ ءِ الْأَخْلاقِ وَ سُوٓ ءِ الْمُنقَلَبِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَ الْمَالِ وَ الْوَلَدِ
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina'sh-shakki wa'sh-shirki wa'n-nifāqi wa'sh-shiqāqi wa sū'i'l-akhlāqi wa sū'i'l-munqalabi fi'l-ahli wa'l-māli wa'l-walad.
O Allah! I seek refuge with You from doubt, polytheism, hypocrisy, discord, bad character, and from an evil outcome concerning my family, wealth, and offspring.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ حَجًّا مَّبْرُورًا وَ سَعَيًا مشُكُورًا وَ ذَنْباً مَّغْفُورًا وَ تِجَارَةً لَنْ تَبُورَ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفُورُ رَبِّ اغْفِرۡ وَ ارْحَمۡ وَ تَجَاوَزۡ عَمَّا تَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْاعَزُّ الأَكْرَمُ يَا عَالِمَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ أَخْرِجْنِي مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
Allāhumma'jʿalhu ḥajjan mabrūran wa saʿyan mashkūran wa dhanban maghfūran wa tijāratan lan tabūr, yā ʿazīzu yā ghafūr. Rabbi'ghfir wa'rḥam wa tajāwaz ʿammā taʿlam, innaka anta'l-aʿazzu'l-akram. Yā ʿālima mā fi'ṣ-ṣudūri akhrijnī mina'ẓ-ẓulumāti ila'n-nūr.
O Allah! Make this pilgrimage accepted, make the effort appreciated, forgive the sins, and make it a trade that never fails. O Mighty, O Oft-Forgiving! O Lord, forgive, have mercy, and overlook what You know, for You are the Most Mighty, the Most Generous. O Knower of what is in the hearts, bring me out from the darkness into the light.
فَاِذَا قَضَيْتُمْ مَّنَاسِكَكُمْ فَاذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ كَذِكْرِكُمْ اٰبَا࢜ءَكُمْ اَوْ اَشَدَّ ذِكْرًاؕ فَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَّقُوْلُ رَبَّنَا͏ٓ اٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَمَا لَهٗ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَاقٍ ٢٠٠
Rabbanā ātinā fi'd-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi'l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba'n-nār.
Then when you have completed the acts of Haj, remember Allah as you used to remember your fathers, but more than that, and some one says like this, 'O our Lord give us in the world and there is no share of him in the Hereafter.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ هَذَا الْحَجَرِ مِنَ الدَّيْنِ وَ الْفَقْرِ وَ ضِيقِ الصَّدْرِ وَ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Allāhumma'ghfir lī bi-raḥmatika wa aʿūdhu bi-rabbi hādha'l-ḥajari mina'd-dayni wa'l-faqri wa ḍīqi'ṣ-ṣadri wa ʿadhābi'l-qabr.
O Allah! Forgive me with Your mercy, and I seek refuge with the Lord of this stone from debt, poverty, chest constriction, and the punishment of the grave.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ سِرِّى وَ عَلَانِيَتِي فَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتِي وَ تَعْلَمُ حَاجَتِي فَأَعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي وَ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيْمَانًا يُّبَاشِرُ قَلْبِي وَيَقِينَا صَادِقاً حَتّٰى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّهٗ لَا يُصِيبُنِي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبْتَ لِي وَ رِضَى بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِینَ
Allāhumma innaka taʿlamu sirrī wa ʿalāniyatī fa'qbal maʿdhiratī, wa taʿlamu ḥājatī fa-aʿṭinī su'lī, wa taʿlamu mā fī nafsī fa'ghfir lī dhunūbī. Allāhumma innī as'aluka īmānan yubāshiru qalbī, wa yaqīnan ṣādiqan ḥattā aʿlama annahū lā yuṣībunī illā mā katabta lī, wa riḍan bimā qasamta lī, yā arḥama'r-rāḥimīn.
O Allah! You know my secret and my open deeds, so accept my excuse. You know my needs, so grant me my request. You know what is in my heart, so forgive my sins. O Allah! I ask You for a faith that deeply enters my heart, and a sincere certainty, so that I know that nothing will afflict me except what You have written for me, and I am content with what You have decreed for me. You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلٰوةُ عَلٰى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَسأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَّافِعًا وَ رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا وَ عَمَلاً صَالِحاً وَ شِفَاءً مِّنْ كُلِّ دَآء
Allāhumma as'aluka ʿilman nāfiʿan wa rizqan wāsiʿan wa ʿamalan ṣāliḥan wa shifā'an min kulli dā'.
O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, abundant sustenance, righteous deeds, and healing from every ailment.
Ṭawāf is seven ashwāṭ (circuits) of the Kaʿbah, made with the House on the left, beginning and closing at the Black Stone. Its component sunan and adʿiyah are set out below in their transmitted order; the wājibāt and the durational fard are treated separately in the section on the kinds and conditions of ṭawāf.
The transmitted method, in order
- Position the right shoulder opposite the corner of the Black Stone and turn the body to the left, forming the niyyah of seven ashwāṭ.
- Recite the basmalah and perform Istilām, placing both hands on the Black Stone and kissing it in the middle, without causing harm to others; placing the face and forehead on it and kissing it three times is mustaḥabb.
- Where kissing is impossible, touch it with the hand and kiss the hand; failing that, touch it with an object and kiss the object; failing that, raise both hands towards it and recite the takbīr, then kiss the hands as though Istilām had occurred.
- Begin walking with the Kaʿbah on the left. Iḍṭibāʿ (passing the lower edge of the iḥrām sheet under the right arm and over the left shoulder, baring the right shoulder) and ramal (brisk, shoulder-swinging steps for the first three ashwāṭ only, the remaining four walked normally) are performed only in a ṭawāf that will be followed by saʿy; a ṭawāf not followed by saʿy has neither. Where a crowd prevents ramal, one pauses until it thins rather than omitting it.
- Talbiyah ceases at the start of ṭawāf. In its place, the adʿiyah below are recited at each landmark: the Muṭazzam (between the Black Stone and the door), the door of the Kaʿbah, the Iraqi corner, beneath the Mīzāb (the waterspout, facing the Ḥaṭīm), the Syrian corner, between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, and again on returning to the Black Stone at the close of each shawṭ.
- Istilām of the Yemeni corner, where the crowd allows, is touching it with one or both hands without a kiss; where crowded, no gesture is required in its place, per the narration this practice rests on.
- Istilām of the Black Stone at the start of every shawṭ is mustaḥabb; performing it only at the first and the last shawṭ is also valid.
- Seven ashwāṭ, the Ḥijr always included within the circuit, constitute one complete ṭawāf.
- Proceed to Maqām Ibrāhīm reciting wa'ttakhidhū min maqāmi Ibrāhīma muṣallā, and pray two rakʿahs there (Sūrat al-Kāfirūn in the first, Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ in the second), farḍ in the Ḥanafī school. Recite the duʿā of Ādam ʿalayhi's-salām afterwards.
- At the Muṭazzam, place the chest and right cheek against the wall, spread both hands overhead, and recite the long supplication given below.
- Proceed to the well of Zamzam, face the qiblah, take three sips reciting the basmalah over each, drink fully, draw the bucket oneself if possible, and pour the remainder over the body; recite the final duʿā on the last sip.
- A pilgrim who will perform saʿy afterwards then performs a final Istilām of the Black Stone, as though seeking leave to proceed to Ṣafā; one who will not perform saʿy does not repeat this Istilām.
Ramal is a sunnah mu'akkadah confined to the first three ashwāṭ of a ṭawāf that will be followed by saʿy; Ḥanafī jurists count it, together with iḍṭibāʿ, Tawaf al-Qudūm, and staying overnight in Minā, among the four emphasised sunnahs of Ḥajj according to the faqīh Abū'l-Layth. Neither ramal nor iḍṭibāʿ carries any kaffārah if omitted.
Two rakʿahs after every ṭawāf are farḍ according to the Ḥanafī school (Imām al-Shāfiʿī holds them sunnah), best prayed immediately behind Maqām Ibrāhīm, and failing that within the Ḥijr, beneath the Mīzāb, elsewhere near the Kaʿbah, in the Maṭāf, in Masjid al-Ḥarām, or anywhere within the wider Ḥaram, even, at a pinch, at home, since this prayer is not bound to a particular place, though it is disliked to pray it outside the Ḥaram.

وَ الْعَبْدُ عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَهَذَا الْمَقَامُ مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَحَرِّمُ يَا اللهُ لُحُومَنَا وَ بَشْرَتَنَا مِنَ النَّارِ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفَّارُ
Wa'l-ʿabdu ʿabduka wa ana ʿabduka wa hādha'l-maqāmu maqāmu'l-ʿā'idhi bika mina'n-nār, fa-ḥarrim yā Allāhu luḥūmanā wa basharatanā mina'n-nār, yā ʿazīzu yā ghaffār.
The servant is Your servant and I am Your servant, and this station is the station of the one who seeks refuge with You from the Fire. O Allah, protect our flesh and our skins from the Fire. O Mighty, O Oft-Forgiving.
اَللّٰهُمَّ قَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيْهِ وَاخْلُفْ عَلٰى كُلِّ غَائِبَةٍ لِي بِخَيْرٍ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهٗ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهٗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَ هُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Allāhumma qanniʿnī bimā razaqtanī wa bārik lī fīhi wa'khluf ʿalā kulli ghā'ibatin lī bi-khayr, lā ilāha illa'llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu'l-mulku wa lahu'l-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr.
O Allah! Make me content with the provision You have given me, bless it for me, and replace everything that I have lost with something better. There is no god but Allah, the One, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّکِّ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَالنِّفَاقِ وَ الشِّقَاقِ وَسُوٓ ءِ الْأَخْلاقِ وَ سُوٓ ءِ الْمُنقَلَبِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَ الْمَالِ وَ الْوَلَدِ
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina'sh-shakki wa'sh-shirki wa'n-nifāqi wa'sh-shiqāqi wa sū'i'l-akhlāqi wa sū'i'l-munqalabi fi'l-ahli wa'l-māli wa'l-walad.
O Allah! I seek refuge with You from doubt, polytheism, hypocrisy, discord, bad character, and from an evil outcome concerning my family, wealth, and offspring.
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَظِلَّنِي تَحْتَ ظِلَّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّكَ وَ لَا بَاقِيَ إِلَّا وَجۡهُكَ وَاسْقِنِي بِكَأْسٍ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرْبَةً لَّا أَظْمَأُ بَعْدَهَا
Allāhumma aẓillanī taḥta ẓilli ʿarshika yawma lā ẓilla illā ẓilluk, wa lā bāqiya illā wajhuk, wa'sqinī bi-ka'si Muḥammadin ṣalla'llāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam sharbatan lā aẓma'u baʿdahā.
O Allah! On the Day when there will be no shade but Your shade, and when nothing will remain except Your Face, shade me under the shade of Your Throne. And let me drink from the cup of Muhammad ﷺ, a drink after which I will never feel thirsty again.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ حَجًّا مَّبْرُورًا وَ سَعَيًا مشُكُورًا وَ ذَنْباً مَّغْفُورًا وَ تِجَارَةً لَنْ تَبُورَ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفُورُ رَبِّ اغْفِرۡ وَ ارْحَمۡ وَ تَجَاوَزۡ عَمَّا تَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْاعَزُّ الأَكْرَمُ يَا عَالِمَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ أَخْرِجْنِي مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
Allāhumma'jʿalhu ḥajjan mabrūran wa saʿyan mashkūran wa dhanban maghfūran wa tijāratan lan tabūr, yā ʿazīzu yā ghafūr. Rabbi'ghfir wa'rḥam wa tajāwaz ʿammā taʿlam, innaka anta'l-aʿazzu'l-akram. Yā ʿālima mā fi'ṣ-ṣudūri akhrijnī mina'ẓ-ẓulumāti ila'n-nūr.
O Allah! Make this pilgrimage accepted, make the effort appreciated, forgive the sins, and make it a trade that never fails. O Mighty, O Oft-Forgiving! O Lord, forgive, have mercy, and overlook what You know, for You are the Most Mighty, the Most Generous. O Knower of what is in the hearts, bring me out from the darkness into the light.
فَاِذَا قَضَيْتُمْ مَّنَاسِكَكُمْ فَاذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ كَذِكْرِكُمْ اٰبَا࢜ءَكُمْ اَوْ اَشَدَّ ذِكْرًاؕ فَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَّقُوْلُ رَبَّنَا͏ٓ اٰتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَمَا لَهٗ فِي الْاٰخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَاقٍ ٢٠٠
Rabbanā ātinā fi'd-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fi'l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāba'n-nār.
Then when you have completed the acts of Haj, remember Allah as you used to remember your fathers, but more than that, and some one says like this, 'O our Lord give us in the world and there is no share of him in the Hereafter.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ هَذَا الْحَجَرِ مِنَ الدَّيْنِ وَ الْفَقْرِ وَ ضِيقِ الصَّدْرِ وَ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Allāhumma'ghfir lī bi-raḥmatika wa aʿūdhu bi-rabbi hādha'l-ḥajari mina'd-dayni wa'l-faqri wa ḍīqi'ṣ-ṣadri wa ʿadhābi'l-qabr.
O Allah! Forgive me with Your mercy, and I seek refuge with the Lord of this stone from debt, poverty, chest constriction, and the punishment of the grave.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ سِرِّى وَ عَلَانِيَتِي فَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتِي وَ تَعْلَمُ حَاجَتِي فَأَعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي وَ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيْمَانًا يُّبَاشِرُ قَلْبِي وَيَقِينَا صَادِقاً حَتّٰى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّهٗ لَا يُصِيبُنِي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبْتَ لِي وَ رِضَى بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِینَ
Allāhumma innaka taʿlamu sirrī wa ʿalāniyatī fa'qbal maʿdhiratī, wa taʿlamu ḥājatī fa-aʿṭinī su'lī, wa taʿlamu mā fī nafsī fa'ghfir lī dhunūbī. Allāhumma innī as'aluka īmānan yubāshiru qalbī, wa yaqīnan ṣādiqan ḥattā aʿlama annahū lā yuṣībunī illā mā katabta lī, wa riḍan bimā qasamta lī, yā arḥama'r-rāḥimīn.
O Allah! You know my secret and my open deeds, so accept my excuse. You know my needs, so grant me my request. You know what is in my heart, so forgive my sins. O Allah! I ask You for a faith that deeply enters my heart, and a sincere certainty, so that I know that nothing will afflict me except what You have written for me, and I am content with what You have decreed for me. You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا وَاجِدُ يَا مَاجِدُ لَا تَنْزِعۡ مِنِّي نِعْمَةً أَنْعَمْتَهَا عَلَىَّ اَللّٰهُمْ إِنِّي وَقَفْتُ عَلٰى بَابِكَ الْعَالِي وَ الْتَزَمۡتُ بِاَعْتَابِكَ وَ أَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَ أَخْشٰى عَذَابَكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ حَرِّمۡ شَعْرِى وَ جَسَدِى عَلَى النَّارِ اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا صُنْتَ وَجْهِي عَنْ سُجُودِ غَيْرِكَ فَصُنۡ وَجْهِي عَنْ مَسْأَلَةِ غَيْرِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا رَبِّ الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ اَعْتِقۡ رِقَابَنَا وَ رِقَابَ ابَائِنَا وَ أُمَّهَاتِنَا وَأَصْحَابِنَا وَأَحِبَّائِنَا مِنَ النَّارِ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا غَفَّارُ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا جَبَّارُ تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ وَتُبۡ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ قِنِي مِنَ النَّارِ وَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ سُوْءٍ وَ قَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيْمَا اٰتَيْتَنِي وَصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ الْهَاشِمِي اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرۡ ذُنُو بِى لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنتَ إِنَّكَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Allāhumma yā wājidu yā mājidu lā tanziʿ minnī niʿmatan anʿamtahā ʿalayya. Allāhumma innī waqaftu ʿalā bābika'l-ʿālī wa'ltazamtu bi-aʿtābika wa arjū raḥmataka wa akhshā ʿadhābak. Allāhumma ḥarrim shaʿrī wa jasadī ʿala'n-nār. Allāhumma kamā ṣunta wajhī ʿan sujūdi ghayrika fa-ṣun wajhī ʿan mas'alati ghayrik. Allāhumma yā rabba'l-bayti'l-ʿatīq, aʿtiq riqābanā wa riqāba ābā'inā wa ummahātinā wa aṣḥābinā wa aḥibbā'inā mina'n-nār, yā karīmu yā ghaffāru yā ʿazīzu yā jabbār, taqabbal minnā innaka anta's-samīʿu'l-ʿalīm, wa tub ʿalaynā innaka anta't-tawwābu'r-raḥīm. Allāhumma rabba'l-bayti'l-ʿatīq, qinī mina'n-nār wa aʿidhnī min kulli sū'in, wa qanniʿnī bimā razaqtanī wa bārik lī fīmā ātaytanī, wa ṣalli ʿala'n-nabiyyi'l-hāshimī. Allāhumma'ghfir dhunūbī, lā yaghfiru'dh-dhunūba illā anta innaka ghafūrun raḥīm.
O Allah! O Finder! O Majestic! Do not take away the blessings You have bestowed upon me. O Allah! I stand at Your high door, clinging to Your threshold. I hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. O Allah! Make my hair and body forbidden to the Fire. O Allah! Just as You kept my face from prostrating to anyone other than You, keep my face from seeking anything other than You. O Allah! O Lord of the Ancient House, free our necks, the necks of our fathers, mothers, friends, and loved ones from the Fire. O Generous! O Forgiving! O Mighty! O Compeller! Accept from us, for You are the All-Hearing, All-Knowing. And turn to us in repentance; indeed, You are the Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful. O Allah! O Lord of the Ancient House, protect me from the Fire, protect me from all evil, make me content with the provision You have given me, and bless me in what You have provided. Send blessings upon the Hashemite Prophet. O Allah! Forgive my sins, for none can forgive sins except You; indeed, You are the Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.
بِسْمِ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلٰوةُ عَلٰى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
Bismillāhi wa'l-ḥamdu lillāhi wa'ṣ-ṣalātu ʿalā rasūli'llāh.
I begin in the name of Allah, and all praise is for Allah, and blessings upon His Messenger.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَسأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَّافِعًا وَ رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا وَ عَمَلاً صَالِحاً وَ شِفَاءً مِّنْ كُلِّ دَآء
Allāhumma as'aluka ʿilman nāfiʿan wa rizqan wāsiʿan wa ʿamalan ṣāliḥan wa shifā'an min kulli dā'.
O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, abundant sustenance, righteous deeds, and healing from every ailment.
